Rockdoor composite doors, fitted across West Yorkshire

A Rockdoor composite door is a different kind of composite door. Instead of the foam core and PVC skin you get with most composites, a Rockdoor is built around a hardened glass-reinforced plastic outer, a solid-filled core, and internal reinforcement plates that make it genuinely difficult to break through. It’s the door you fit when security is the first thing you’re thinking about.

We're an authorised Rockdoor installer covering West Yorkshire, and we fit Rockdoor composite doors from Wakefield town centre to isolated village properties where security concerns are real.

Most composite doors do the same things well: they look good, they insulate, they lock securely, and they last. Rockdoor does one thing better: it resists attack.

The construction

  • Glass-reinforced plastic outer skin that resists cuts, impacts, and tools
  • Solid polyurethane core filling the entire slab with no air gaps
  • Internal reinforcement plates at lock and hinge points
  • Security glazing beads that can’t be pried out from outside
  • Multi-point locking with anti-bump and anti-snap cylinder protection
  • Chubb locks fitted as standard on most ranges
  • Secured by Design accreditation

Real-world tested

Rockdoor publish their own break-in resistance testing, and the results are consistent: even with serious force, the doors hold up where standard composites, uPVC, and timber fail. That’s the appeal.

Not just security: everything else works too

Because Rockdoor built their reputation on security, the everyday features sometimes get overlooked. They’re also thermally efficient, weather-sealed, available in a wide range of colours, and backed by a long manufacturer guarantee.

When Rockdoor is the right call

Isolated properties

Village homes, farmhouses, rural plots, and anywhere without immediate neighbours. The security advantage matters more the further you are from help.

Homes that have been targeted before

If a property has been broken into, or if the area has seen a pattern of break-ins, Rockdoor is a meaningful upgrade on standard composite.

Buy-to-let and HMO properties

Landlords looking to specify once and forget it often go Rockdoor because the longevity and security reduce maintenance and insurance issues.

Security-conscious homeowners

If you’ve researched doors for more than a few hours and security keeps coming out as your top priority, Rockdoor is the door to look at.

Insurance requirements

Some home insurers give a discount for Secured by Design doors. Rockdoor qualifies on most ranges.

Door designer journey

Rockdoor offer an online configurator that lets you build the exact door you want before you order. Slab style, colour, glass panel, hardware, letter plate, handle finish, spyhole, knocker, numerals.

When you come to us for a Rockdoor quote, we’ll walk you through the designer in the showroom so you can see each choice and understand what it changes. No guessing from thumbnails.

Choose our Premium Collection if

You want the widest aesthetic flexibility, the best finish options, the longest colour range, and premium hardware. Security is important but not the single driver.

Choose a standard composite if

You want excellent value for a front door in most situations. Cost matters more than maximum security or premium finish.

Rockdoor as another premium option

Rockdoor is a different premium route. Where our Premium Collection focuses on look, feel, and finish, Rockdoor prioritises raw security credentials. Both are excellent. Which one suits you depends on what you’re optimising for.

The install

Rockdoor installations are straightforward, usually a half-day to full-day job on a standard opening. The slab is heavier than a standard composite so handling takes more care. We protect surrounding finishes, fit the new frame with weatherproof seals, hang and adjust the door, and walk you through the operation before we leave.

Every install is FENSA-signed off. Rockdoor come with the manufacturer’s warranty, and our installation adds a 10-year guarantee* on top.

All across West and South Yorkshire. Most of our Rockdoor work is in rural properties, higher-value detached homes, and areas where customers have specifically researched security doors.

Rockdoor FAQs

  • Is a Rockdoor more secure than a regular composite door?

In real-world break-in testing, yes. The glass-reinforced outer skin, solid core, and internal reinforcement plates are harder to cut, drill, or force open than standard composite construction.

  • Are Rockdoors more expensive than standard composite doors?

Usually yes, and the price gap varies with the specification. The security and longevity typically justify the difference for the right property.

  • Can I see a Rockdoor in your showroom?

Yes. We display Rockdoor products in the Normanton showroom and we can take you through the designer configurator there.

  • How long do Rockdoor doors last?

The slab itself should outlast almost any other front door on the market. 30 years plus with no meaningful degradation is realistic.

  • Do Rockdoors come in heritage styles?

Yes, including traditional panelled, cottage, and stable-door designs. Not just contemporary.

  • Does Rockdoor meet insurance requirements?

Most Rockdoor specifications meet or exceed Secured by Design standards, which is the accreditation most UK insurers recognise.
