Contemporary casement windows, across West Yorkshire

Contemporary casement windows are the most-fitted window in the UK for a reason. Simple hinged sashes, good ventilation, easy to clean, and they suit almost every property type we work on. From the 1930s semis of Wakefield to the new-builds of Leeds, a well-fitted uPVC casement just works.

We’ve been fitting them for over 30 years. We know the shortcuts, the right hardware, the weatherproofing that holds up, and the detail that makes a replacement look like it was always meant to be there.

Photos online give you about 20% of the information you need to make a decent decision. A showroom visit gives you the rest. Here’s what you can only judge in person.

A proper survey before a proper quote

Most casement replacement jobs go wrong because the measuring went wrong. We survey every opening before we order, check the reveal depth, the cill condition, and the brickwork, and flag anything that’ll need attention on install day. That’s why our fittings look tight and our customers don’t have call-backs.

Fitted by our own team

We don’t sub-contract the install. The person who surveys your job is part of the same team that turns up on the day. Communication gets simpler, accountability gets clearer, and mistakes get rarer.

Thirty years of quirks

Older West Yorkshire houses have quirks. Slightly out of square reveals, stone cills that fracture if you pry a frame the wrong way, render that’s been over-skimmed around old frames. We’ve seen all of it. That experience shapes how we plan every job.

What our casement windows give you

Our uPVC casements are built for UK weather, specced for modern energy efficiency, and shaped to suit both traditional and contemporary homes.

Energy efficiency that shows up on the bill

Security built in

Internally glazed, multi-point locking, shoot-bolts on larger sashes, and hardware that meets Secured by Design standards on qualifying products. No one wants to think about break-ins, but the specification matters.

Low maintenance, long life

uPVC frames don’t rot, don’t need sanding, don’t need repainting, and wipe clean with soapy water. For busy homeowners, that’s most of the appeal.

1930s semis

The original timber casements in these properties were usually side-hung with a top vent, often in a 3-over-1 pattern. We replicate that configuration in uPVC to keep the street scene consistent, with modern weather seals and energy performance the originals could never match.

Post-war and 1960s properties

Often larger openings, square-cut, sometimes grouped in runs. Slim-profile casements with matching mullions work well here, and aluminium is worth considering where sightlines matter.

New-builds and contemporary renovations

Larger sashes, bigger glass area, and anthracite grey frames are the standard ask. We can match developer specifications or improve on them if you’ve inherited cheap builder-grade windows.

Period properties

If your home is pre-1900, a flush sash casement will usually look more authentic than a standard lipped profile.

The install and the guarantee

A typical casement replacement for a full house takes one to three days on site, depending on how many openings and the condition of the existing frames. We protect floors, clean up as we go, and take the old frames and glass away.

Every install is FENSA-signed off and comes with a 10-year guarantee* on most products. You’ll know exactly what’s covered before you order.

Casement window FAQs

  • How long do uPVC casement windows last?

A well-fitted quality uPVC casement should last 25 to 35 years. The glazing units may need replacement before the frames do.

  • Can I get a single window replaced, or does it have to be the whole house?

Single windows are fine. We do it regularly. There’s a minimum job size so it’s worth doing, but we’ll quote fairly.

  • Are your windows energy-rated

Yes. Our standard casements are A-rated with double glazing, and A++ with 40mm triple glazing.

  • Can you match my existing window style?

Usually, yes. Flush sash, lipped profile, Georgian bars, leaded, or stained glass effects are all available.

  • Do you work in conservation areas?

Yes, and we’ll check local rules before we quote. In some cases a sliding sash window is required instead of a casement.
