The best composite doors we fit

Our Premium Collection is where we point homeowners who’ve decided the front door isn’t the place to cut corners. Thicker slabs, better hardware, a wider colour and finish range, and a door designer journey that lets you see exactly what you’re ordering before it’s made.

If you want the best composite door we fit, this is the page.

“Premium” gets used loosely in this industry. Here’s what it actually means in our range.

Thicker slab

A standard composite door slab is around 44mm thick. A premium slab runs thicker, with denser internal reinforcement, which gives you more security at the hinges and lock points, better thermal performance, and a door that feels substantial the moment you open it.

Upgraded hardware

Premium means Chubb locks, anti-snap cylinders, anti-bump mechanisms, reinforced hinge plates, and concealed lock strengtheners. All the things that matter in the real world of break-in attempts, most of which you’ll never see.

A wider colour and finish palette

Standard composite ranges have 15 to 20 colours. Premium ranges have 40 or more, plus heritage finishes, textured matt options, dual-colour combinations, and special colours for period and contemporary properties that standard ranges don’t touch.

Better glass panel designs

More intricate leaded options, higher-grade etched glass, authentic stained glass effects, and contemporary geometric patterns. The glass is often where the personality of the door lives, and the premium range has more of it.

A door designer journey

Before you order, you can configure the exact door you’ll get. Slab style, colour, glass panel, hardware, handles, letter plate, numerals. You see a rendered preview of your chosen door so there are no surprises on install day.

Who should choose the Premium Collection

High-value properties

If you’re investing in a period townhouse, a renovated barn, a new-build with kerb appeal budget, or a forever home you’re not planning to leave, the premium range is usually the right fit.

Homes with security concerns

Areas with a history of break-ins, properties on isolated roads, or homeowners who’ve been targeted before. The upgraded security specification is worth the difference.

Homeowners who want a specific look

If the colour or finish you want isn’t available in the standard range, the premium range usually has it or can be matched to a specific RAL.

Anyone who plans to notice their front door every day

Sounds small, but a front door is one of those things you see and touch every time you leave and return home. The extra quality shows up every day.

Premium vs standard composite, honestly

Pick standard if: budget matters more than specification, the property is mid-value, and the door is in a lower-risk location.

Pick Premium if: the front door is prominent, security matters, you want the widest choice, or you plan to keep the house for 10+ years.

Rockdoor as another premium option

Rockdoor is a different premium route. Where our Premium Collection focuses on look, feel, and finish, Rockdoor prioritises raw security credentials. Both are excellent. Which one suits you depends on what you’re optimising for.

The install

A premium composite door fit follows the same process as standard: single-day job in most cases, with careful removal of the old frame, precision fitting of the new one, and a full walk-through before we leave. FENSA-signed off, 10-year guarantee* on most products.

Across West and South Yorkshire. Most of our premium work is in Harrogate, Ilkley, Wetherby, central Leeds, and the higher-value areas of Wakefield, Huddersfield, and York.

Premium Composite FAQs

  • How much more does a premium composite door cost?

Typically 20 to 50 percent more than a standard composite, depending on the slab, colour, glass, and hardware choices. We’ll give you a written quote so you can compare side by side.

  • What’s the door designer journey?

An online or in-showroom configurator where you pick every element of the door and see a rendered preview before you order. No surprises on install day.

  • Are Premium Collection doors Secured by Design?

Yes on qualifying ranges. We’ll confirm which specific configurations are SBD-accredited when you come to quote.

  • Is the Premium Collection the same as Rockdoor?

No. Rockdoor is a separate brand with a different construction method. Both are premium options but they’re built differently and they appeal to different priorities.

  • Can I see the door before I order?

Yes, in two ways. You can see Premium Collection slabs in our Normanton showroom, and you can see a rendered preview of your specific configuration through the door designer.
